Female Figures
(clothed)
(Click on images for enlargements and more information.)
"The End of a Long Day."
This thoughtful female figure, seated in an armchair on an oriental rug, has taken off her shoes in a pose many can identify with.
"Flora."
This piece's polychrome patina, with the contrast between the dark brown patina of the skin and the light green of the dress, is particularly striking.
"The End of Summer."
A blonde young woman sits with the skirts of her sundress spread around her.
"A Quiet Evening at Home."
A young woman in a a leotard
relaxes with a book.
"Pomona."
This ripely joyful little figure holds an apple
like the Roman goddess of the harvest.
"Quiet."
This pensive figure with bowed head is reminiscent of a classical column, a resemblance emphasized by the fluted folds of her skirt, her coiled hairdo and the shape of the carved base.
"Annunciation."
The angel Gabriel, like a flame, brings the spirit to the kneeling Mary, combining abstraction and realism in a single piece.
" Madonna and Child."
A maquette or sketch for a proposed
commissioned public sculpture,
this piece focuses on wonder and maternal love.
Nativities
This series of unique small bronze sculptures depicts Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus on a halo-like bed of straw, overlooked by an angel's benevolent presence.
The gestures and emotions of these semi-abstract figures are different in each one-of-a-kind sculpture, and the color of the patina varies from piece to piece. The two shown are representative. Size is approximately 6" high x 5" wide x 4" deep.
