Tree Series: Trees with Birds
In the summer of 2001 I made the first of several series of small fanciful bronze trees, whose branches may contain birds, leaves, blossoms, or butterflies. These little trees are cast directly in bronze from branches of shrubs on my property, and as a result they are one-of-a-kind.
Since 2001 I have made many more series of these trees, including some that sit on the top of bronze boxes rather than on wooden bases. Below is a sampling. I am continuing to make new trees, and some of these one-of-a-kind pieces are no longer available. Tree sculptures with particular types of birds may be commissioned.

The direction my work seems to be taking lately is away from trees with abstract designs and toward other abstract forms. The birds are still present, though.
